Responsibilities

The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the Bouvé College of Health Sciences’ School of Pharmacy and the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology in the College of Science at Northeastern University are seeking qualified candidates in the area of natural products for a tenured/tenure track faculty position. The search for a researcher in natural products is broad and includes areas such as the isolation, structural determination, and/or chemical synthesis of natural products and bioactive molecules. Candidates who can bring the latest NMR techniques to elucidate the three-dimensional structural details of the interactions between natural products and macromolecules are encouraged to apply. The aim is to identify a candidate who will collaborate in an interdisciplinary environment with an existing core of pharmaceutical and biomolecular researchers working at the cutting edge of drug discovery. Though the position is targeted at the full professor level, tenure-track associate professor candidates will also be considered. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to establish a world class, well-funded research program in the area of natural products and teach in the areas of pharmaceutical sciences and chemistry.

Qualifications

Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. in medicinal chemistry, chemistry or a related field. Tenured candidates are expected to have an established funded research program. Tenure track candidates are expected to develop a well-funded, high-impact research program. All candidates must demonstrate excellence in teaching, and serve the university by helping it accomplish its teaching and research mission.
