Responsibilities

Northeastern University is seeking applications for Senior Research Scientists in the Cyber Security and Privacy Institute. Senior Research Scientists perform original research in cyber security and privacy, supervise MS and PhD theses, participate on student thesis evaluation committees, contribute to the educational activities of the institute, and have budget management responsibility. They also exercise functional and administrative management over supporting research staff.

Qualifications

Must have a Ph.D. or equivalent by the start date; experience which includes progressively more responsible, independent research work evidenced by publications, inventions, or equivalent efforts; demonstrated project management experience, including supervisory, budgetary and general administrative skills.

Additional Information

Senior Research Scientists will be members of the Cyber Security and Privacy Institute. The Institute will be located in the new Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Complex located at Northeastern University’s Main Boston Campus which is opening in January 2017 (http://www.northeastern.edu/isec/). The Institute’s main research focus is cyber security and privacy covering the areas of traditional security topics (malware detection, APTS’s, network/mobile/wireless security), law and policy for privacy and computer security, and theoretical aspects of security and privacy. Annual renewal for this position is subject to review by the Internal Advisory Board of the Cyber Security and Privacy Institute. This position is externally funded.
