Responsibilities

Northeastern University is seeking applications for Principal Research Scientists in the Cyber Security and Privacy Institute. Principal Research Scientists create and lead research programs in cyber security and privacy. Responsibilities include: designing, developing and establishing standards for the research to be conducted; obtaining new grants; interviewing, hiring and managing all professional and technical staff.

Qualifications

Must have a Ph.D. or equivalent; demonstrated outstanding scholarship and leadership in cybersecurity; demonstrated project management experience, including supervisory, budgetary, and general administrative skills.

Additional Information

Principal Research Scientists will be members of the Cyber Security and Privacy Institute. The Institute will be located in the new Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Complex located at Northeastern University’s Main Boston Campus which is opening in January 2017 (http://www.northeastern.edu/isec/). The Institute’s main research focus is cyber security and privacy covering the areas of traditional security topics (malware detection, APTS’s, network/mobile/wireless security), law and policy for privacy and computer security, and theoretical aspects of security and privacy. Annual renewal for this position is subject to review by the Internal Advisory Board of the Cyber Security and Privacy Institute. This position is externally funded.
