Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities involve teaching courses at the general, organic, physical or analytical chemistry course level. Teach up to five courses for students in the life or physical sciences or engineering students in the day and evening programs at the graduate or undergraduate level depending on departmental need and enrollment. Plan and develop instructional programs and materials, e.g. manuals, protocols. Meet periodically with departmental chair to evaluate curriculum. Advise and assist students regarding educational, vocational, and, as appropriate, personal concerns related to their expertise and experience. Meet with other faculty members to monitor student progress and assist students when necessary. Serve on various departmental and College of Science committees, sub-committees, and task forces to formulate, evaluate, and approve programs. Develop and teach workshops for professionals in the field. Contribute to faculty efforts to obtain external funding for program development.

Qualifications

Applicant must have PhD, or equivalent, in chemistry and prior teaching experience.
