Responsibilities

The Integrative Tissue Physiology Laboratory at Northeastern University invites applications for a post-doctoral scholar in the area of airway smooth muscle/airway biomechanics and function. The successful candidate will participate in projects designed to elucidate the nature of force transmission pathways in the human airway. The postdoctoral scholar will be expected to present posters and papers at national and international conferences, and to submit grant proposals to federal agencies and manuscripts to peer reviewed journals based on the research.

Qualifications

Outstanding candidates will have a Ph.D. in biomechanics, mechanical engineering, or a related field will be considered with preference given to candidates with research experience in airway smooth muscle physiology. Expertise in mechanical modeling, mechanics measurements, data analysis, and/or design of experiments is required. Candidates with strong organizational and project management skills, strong written and oral communication skills and skill in leading, coordinating, and/or supervising the work of others are preferred.
