Responsibilities

Northeastern University is seeking applications for Cyber Security and Privacy Institute Postdoctoral Research Fellows. Postdoctoral Fellows perform independent research in cyber security and privacy, supervise student projects, participate on student thesis evaluation committees, and contribute to educational activities of the Institute. The appointment generally does not extend beyond two years.

Qualifications

Must have a Ph.D. or equivalent by the start date; be able to undertake substantially full-time research; mentor and advise in PhD and MS student research projects.

Additional Information

The Postdoctoral Fellow will work under the supervision of the Internal Advisory Board of the Cyber Security and Privacy Institute. The Institute will be located in the new Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Complex located at Northeastern University’s Main Boston Campus which is opening in January 2017 (http://www.northeastern.edu/isec/). The Institute’s main research focus is cyber security and privacy covering the areas of traditional security topics (malware detection, APTS’s, network/mobile/wireless security), law and policy for privacy and computer security, and theoretical aspects of security and privacy.

Postdoctoral Fellows are offered additional funds for expenses related to research development.

Applicants must submit a cover letter, CV, and a research statement. The research statement must also describe work proposed to be conducted as a postdoctoral fellow and must name a faculty host who is a member of the Cyber Security and Privacy Institute. Applicants also need to provide the contact information for three to five professional references in the professional references application section.
