This Administrative Assistant will undertake daily administrative tasks to ensure the functionality and coordination of the Enrollment, Marketing & Recruitment department’s activities. This position will provide direct support to the Vice President of Enrollment, Marketing, & Recruitment. In addition, the Administrative Assistant will support the enrollment and marketing teams in organizing various projects, assisting in the organizing of promotional and team events, conducting special assignments and researching on a wide range of subjects related to the overall management, operation, and efficiency of Northeastern University’s marketing and enrollment initiatives. Working closely with the Vice President and other senior leaders of the unit, this position will be required to make independent judgments, liaising and networking with a range of stakeholders including customers, colleagues, suppliers and partner organizations; particularly during times when the Vice President and other administrators are not available.


Associate’s degree required, as well as 2 to 4 years of administrative experience, preferably in higher education. Attention to detail and effective oral and written communication skills, including grammar, punctuation, and proof reading a must. Demonstrated experience managing and/or partnering on individual projects is a plus.
Needs to have the following: the ability to listen; problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to take appropriate steps to promote and sustain effective working relationships within a diverse multicultural environment; ability to engage and work in collaboration; ability to navigate complicated institutional terrain with respect and diplomacy and respond to multiple constituencies. Must also be able to maintain a professional demeanor and composure in response to multiple demands, competing priorities, in a multicultural environment and with frequent interruptions. Has to possess a strong collaborative and customer service orientation. Must be able to anticipate needs of the Vice President and the unit and take initiative to work independently, with flexibility and integrity in a changing office environment with multiple priorities. Must be accomplished in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power Point and related presentation software programs and the Internet.
