Responsibilities

Working as a collaborative member of the Regulatory and Business Affairs Unit in the Office of the General Counsel, the Licensure Specialist will oversee the logistical aspects of higher education authorization in connection with the University’s current and future national and international educational offerings, as well as to support compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations. The Licensure Specialist will research, obtain, and maintain required higher education licenses, enabling the University to deliver a wide variety of distance education activities across diverse jurisdictions. To do so, this position will work in partnership with administrators, academic program managers, faculty, and others to identify the authorization processes prescribed by a variety of higher education agencies, assess the University’s readiness for authorization, facilitate the steps required to meet required standards, and oversee the internal and external communication, material submission, and subsequent status of a University application. The Licensure Specialist will also query and compile the unit’s resources and data to be used in licensure reporting, and offer drafting and editing support of high priority documents, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and quality of unit materials, and enhancing efficiency and organization of unit processes.

Qualifications

Minimum: Bachelors’ degree with 2-4 years of experience in a role primarily responsible for obtaining and maintaining state or federal regulatory licenses/authorizations, or a similar role focused on regulatory compliance.

Preferred: Prior experience in higher education; Masters’ degree in a field related to higher education or regulatory compliance.
