Responsibilities

This two-year Fellowship Program in collaboration at Northeastern University and Tetraphase Pharmaceuticals is designed to offer Doctor of Pharmacy graduates an in-depth experience in a biopharmaceutical industry setting.

Tetraphase focus: Our mission within Medical Affairs at Tetraphase is to generate, communicate and disseminate medical and clinical information on pipeline and marketed products, the diseases our products treat and non-product information that supports the vision of the company to internal and external customers in accordance with established regulations, codes and guidelines. As an integral member of the Medical Affairs team, a Tetraphase Fellow will gain valuable experience through contribution to all functional areas within the department, such as Scientific Strategy, Research, Publications, Operations, Medical Information, Thought Leader Engagement, Training, and Education.
During the introductory months of the program, Fellow will focus on developing a broad understanding of the inner workings of a Medical Affairs group while they build disease state and product knowledge through fulfillment of various Medical Information activities. Throughout the fellowship, Fellow will have the flexibility to select and lead department and cross-functional projects based on interest and company needs to enhance learning and professional growth. Fellow will:
• Enhance project management, communication, teamwork and leadership skills
• Perform critical analyses and generation of medical literature
• Develop scientific materials that communicate information about Tetraphase products to internal and external stakeholders
• Present data, gather competitive intelligence, and represent Tetraphase at key Congresses
• Contribute to and/or lead key projects that support departmental and company goals
• Expand scientific knowledge and teaching experience through participation in core curricular and specialty elective courses at Northeastern University School of Pharmacy
• Rotational experience, including in Field Medical Affairs and other options based off of Fellows’ interests and needs; Commercial/Marketing, Regulatory, Supply Chain and Business Development

Northeastern University School of Pharmacy focus: Fellows have the opportunity to teach courses in both large and small group settings and co—precept introductory and advanced practice experiential education students. Fellows will also participate in teaching seminars with residents and fellows throughout Massachusetts, and will work with Northeastern faculty in the areas of teaching and scholarly projects leading to publication and scientific presentation. The fellows will work at Tetraphase’s office in Watertown, Northeastern offices on campus, as well as various clinical practice settings (hospitals, clinics, pharmacies) with Northeastern faculty.

Qualifications

Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited college of pharmacy, authorization to work in the United States throughout the duration of the two-year fellowship, strong written and verbal communication skills and an interest in pursuing a career in the biopharmaceutical industry.
