Appointment at the rank of associate or full professor with tenure on entry is anticipated. We welcome applicants who have well-established, funded research programs and who are interested in providing vision, leadership and mentorship for the practice-based and social/administrative science faculty within the school of pharmacy and its doctor of pharmacy program. The Department of Pharmacy and Health Systems Sciences is comprised of seven tenured/tenure-track and 22 non-tenure track clinical faculty with areas of expertise that include pharmacy practice and social/administrative sciences. The clinical programs are supported by an office of experiential education and an extensive network of affiliate faculty, residents, and fellows who work in a variety of quality health care institutions in Boston and throughout the country. Areas of concentration within the department include ambulatory care pharmacotherapy, provided by practitioners based in urban community health centers, and social and administrative research faculty with research concentrations in health services, mental health, and geriatrics. Federal and private research funding is robust in the department, which, together with the department of pharmaceutical sciences, consistently places the school of pharmacy first in NIH funding at schools of pharmacy at private universities, and among the top 20 in all US schools of pharmacy.
Northeastern University is committed to building a diverse faculty, and strongly encourages applications from women and members of groups that are under-represented in the sciences.
