Responsibilities

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Program Operations in the Center for Student Involvement (CSI), the Digital Marketing Specialist serves as a key member of the Center for Student Involvement staff and is responsible for developing and executing an overall strategy for digital and print marketing for the Center and managing the website and social media channels. The Specialist will be charged with maximizing the Center’s presence via the CSI website and social media and will leverage technology to engage students more broadly in our efforts. They will also work closely with the Assistant Director of Program Operations to support the management of Center wide software. The successful candidate will strive to continually educate themselves on new technologies and will continuously evaluate and recommend new strategies that will improve our brand and broaden our reach.

The Specialist is responsible for managing a broad portfolio within CSI that includes: overseeing student employees who assist in our social media and design efforts; ensuring our efforts are inclusive and representative of the rich diversity of Northeastern; liaising with central marketing and communications as well as the Office for Student Affairs on various projects and initiatives; oversee the CSI website and perform frequent audits to ensure accuracy of information; work to produce digital content for the website and social media (videos, photos, design, etc); identify opportunities to showcase student narratives in print and web-based campaigns; provide customer service to those contacting us via social media; mentor and train student leaders on marketing and branding best practices; and other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, digital media or related field with 2 – 5 years of demonstrated experience working with social media, print and digital marketing is required. Experience with student activities at the undergraduate level is a plus. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience with sophisticated design software and web development platforms is a must. The Sepcialist must be able to work independently on a fast-paced, global campus and possess a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion. The successful candidate must have excellent problem-solving skills and exceptional interpersonal, organizational, verbal/written communication skills. As a member of the Division of Student Affairs, the Specialist will align their work with the established mission, vision, and literacies of the division. Occasional nights and weekends are a must to ensure the success of divisional initiatives.
