Responsibilities

A part of Northeastern’s Professional Advancement Network (PAN), the Marketing Data Specialist will perform effective data quality analysis, validation and troubleshooting. They will implement quality control measures, define and document best practices to reduce and resolve data anomalies, and maintain data integrity by proactively analyzing data to support organizational goals. They will also develop partnerships with stakeholders to drive education related to data governance rules and best practices, as well as assist in reporting, dashboard creation and assistance with tracking marketing campaigns.

At a high level, they will assist in establishing and maintaining the accuracy of PAN’s marketing data infrastructure, web analytics and tagging practices, with the goal of ensuring the overall quality of the implementation and data it provides and its ability to answer business questions.
Specific tasks the Marketing Data Specialist
will be responsible for include:
• Audit data intake to ensure values meet the criteria defined in our marketing attribution guide and resolve errors
• Partner with marketing, recruitment, enrollment services, enrollment operations, and other teams responsible for data entry and campaign tracking to ensure all data flowing into our systems (Google Analytics, Marketo, Salesforce, and application systems) meet data integrity requirements
• Audit integration-related data flow and partner with ITS and operational teams to resolve errors
• Audit our existing Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager implementation(s) and resolve errors
• Use Google Analytics data to create reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders
• Track online and offline marketing campaigns while ensuring links and URLs are tagged correctly to capture campaign data
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and fix website, analytics or SEO errors

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required
• 2-5 years of experience in Marketing Analytics
• Strong Data Quality and Data Governance skill set
• Highly detail-oriented and self-motivated to proactively identify and reduce data quality issues
• Passion for using data and digital analytics to drive marketing results
• Intermediate Google Analytics skills. Google Analytics IQ certification a plus.
• Basic understanding of Excel. Should know how to use simple functions (VLOOKUP, CONCAT).
• Basic understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript. You don’t need to be a developer, but you should know what these things do and be able to read them at a basic level.
• Basic understanding of relational databases
• Experience with Marketo and Salesforce a plus
• Experience with Google Tag Manager a plus
• Experience with any type of data visualization tool (Google Data Studio, Tableau, Excel charts) a plus
