Responsibilities

The Director of the Graduate School of Professional Accounting is responsible for the overall recruitment, admissions, student services and program operations for the degree programs offered from the GSPA. These programs currently include, MS Accounting, MS Taxation and MS Accounting/MBA.

The Director maintains close professional relationships with various partner accounting firms, leveraging the relationships to enhance recruiting efforts and promote the programs. The Director also works closely with DMSB faculty in the accounting group to ensure a focused, informed perspective on the curricular issues, updates, and challenges.

The MSA/MBA program is a flagship program in the DMSB portfolio. The Director is responsible for maintaining strong, positive relationships with the partner firms, assessing their hiring needs, involving accounting professionals and GSPA alumni in the admission process, gathering and sharing feedback from the firms on student performance on interviews and internships. The Director also works closely with the firms in assessing their hiring needs, and setting the strategy within the GSPA to meet those needs. The cohort nature of the MSA/MBA creates a strong affinity among the students. The Director serves as a liaison between the student cohort and the office of alumni relations as the student’s transition at the completion of their program.

Qualifications

A minimum of 5 years of professional work experience and Master’s degree is required. Strong preference will be given to candidates with an MBA or other business related Masters. Additionally, candidates with experience in or deep knowledge of the accounting profession and CPA firms through prior employment are encouraged to apply.
