Responsibilities

The Administrative Secretary will manage the daily administrative operations of the Northeastern University Nurse Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program (NIE). Position will perform diversified administrative, secretarial, and receptionist duties. Work closely with the NIE Program Director to plan and carry out activities, especially related to conferences and events, communication, marketing, and website updates. Serve as a member of a team-oriented staff providing optimal service to NIE Program vendors and consumers as well as other Northeastern University departments. Develop and implement systems that provide efficient and effective service. Communicate appropriately on behalf of the NIE Program. Greet and assist conference attendees both in person and on the telephone. Prepare materials for committee meetings, conferences, take and distribute minutes for designated meetings. Facilitate communication for events and within department. This position is funded from an outside source. The duration of this position is contingent upon the continued availability of funding at its current financial level.

Qualifications

High School Degree required. Associate’s Degree or Post-High School education with 3-5 years professional administrative experience preferred. Higher education experience a plus and/or working in a large organization or company interfacing with many departments. Excellent computer skills with particular proficiency in Microsoft Office. Strong communication, analytical and organizational skills, excellent customer service, and problem solving skills are essential. Must have excellent planning and time management skills and be able to prioritize and execute tasks in a busy office environment. Must be resourceful, able to work independently, and have evidence of successfully working in a team environment. Proven ability to manage confidential information is required.
