Responsibilities

The Pharmacy Postdoctoral Fellow will join Global Medical Affairs for a two-year commitment, where they will be immersed in all US and Global Medical Affairs activities. Their first year will comprise primarily of rotations throughout Medical Affairs, where the Fellow will be expected to work on three-month long projects, which may be extended at the discretion of their rotation supervisor. The projects will include: Medical Information content development, including medical response letters and core data decks, Field Medical Affairs (Medical Science Liaison) shadowing, Medical Publication support, including the development of manuscripts, abstracts, and presentations, Internal Medical Training, and Medical Affairs Research. During the rotation period, they will be expected to dedicate 50% of their time to supporting the Medical Information Team. They will also learn about Pharmacovigilance, Healthcare Economics and Outcomes Research, Clinical Pharmacology, Clinical Development, and the Commercial Organization. After the first year, they will choose one area within Medical Affairs to conduct a dedicated three-month extended rotation in. The remaining nine months will be fully dedicated to Medical Information activities. Throughout the fellowship, they will devote some of their time as a medical reviewer and also present journal clubs. The Fellow will:
• Complete three-month long projects during rotations for Medical Affairs functions
• Develop cross-functional relationships across the organization
• Provide medical review support for Medical/Legal/Regulatory review of medical and promotional materials as needed
• Present at regularly-scheduled journal clubs (monthly, or less depending on schedules)
• Attend major pharmacy and medical congresses, including ASHP, HOPA and ASCO; attend sessions and Medical Education symposia and provide summary reports
• Develop medical response letters, slide decks, and related documents as needed during rotations and in second year
• Support Medical Information Call Center overflow escalations as needed
• Oversight and mentoring of 6 year APPE students
Northeastern University School of Pharmacy focus:
Fellow has the opportunity to teach courses in both large and small group settings and co-precept experiential education students. Fellow will also participate in teaching seminars with residents and fellows throughout Massachusetts, and will work with Northeastern faculty in the areas of teaching and scholarly projects leading to publication and scientific presentation. Fellow will work from Tesaro in Waltham, MA, and a Northeastern office on campus, as well as opportunities at various clinical practice settings (hospitals, clinics, pharmacies) with Northeastern faculty.

Qualifications

Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited college of pharmacy, authorization to work in the United States throughout the duration of the two-year fellowship, strong written and verbal communication skills and an interest in pursuing a career in the biopharmaceutical industry.
